So, last week,
my lecturer called out my member’s name and asked us to present our analysis on
a particular poem that we’ve chose before. When talking in front of my
classmates, I think I did well. I mean, I’m not bragging or what but I am
relief now since I knew that I did pretty well. I was actually surprised at how
well my brain worked that day. I didn’t know I could talk like that. Haha! I
watch Korean shows, I speak Sundanese at home, I whine in Indonesia and
listening some random Japanese songs. I thought I lost all my English-ness
because of those. But knowing that my brain was still capable to catch up the
material and easily bursting out the words to begin with, I believed that I was
pretty cool that day. Hahaha. Sorry..
And today, I
freaking had to do the presentation again. Different course though. But I
couldn’t concentrate at all. I was disturbed by many things I saw and heard.
First, the expressions of my classmates. Seriously, they were like they’re expecting
something huge was about come out of my mouth. What were they thinking?! That’s
my first sentence I produced in my head when I saw they were looking at me in a
weird way. Second, well I have to say, my group member. He was trying to make a
joke (maybe?) which I think it was FUNNY at all. He asked “what’s your name?”
to me during the introduction. I was like “The effff are you doing?” haha. I
was about to attack him verbally, but It would make everything worse. So I sat
still, even though my lecturer was like “that was a joke?” lol! First of all,
he asked that rudely, I mean, he used a rude words to ask that question that’s
why I think that joke was inappropriate. Second, I’m older than him so I don’t
think it was too rude to ask me like that using those words. Well, overall, it
was not the right joke to be said that time. Bleh!
